Proceedings: We received 120 papers which came from 11 different countries and accepted 90 papers for publication in the conference through referee review. The topics cover various areas in management science and engineering management, such as Information Technology, Computer and Networks, Information Management and Information System, Supply Chain Management, Total Quality Management, Service Operations Management, Service Quality and Customer Relationship Management, Decision Support Systems, Operations Planning, Scheduling and Control, Knowledge Management, Industrial Value Chain, Economic Development in China, Uncertainty Decision-making, Heuristic Algorithms, Electronic Commerce Management, Enterprise Resource Planning, Uncertainty Theory, Stochastic Programming, Data Warehousing and Data Mining, Soft Computing, Risk and Emergency Management, Green Supply Chain, E-Commerce Supply Chain, Venture Capital Projects and so on. The proceedings have been archived by EI retrieval.
Conference: The conference provided a suitable environment for discussions and exchanges of research ideas among participants during its well organized post-conference tours. Although we presented our research results in technical sessions, participated in round table discussions during the conference period, we had extra and fruitful occasions to exchange research ideas with colleagues in this relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere of sightseeing.
Conference organization in the Sixth ICMSEM has achieved a new breakthrough. It provided an excellent opportunity to discuss and communicate about research in a much more concentrated and deeper way.
Another new aspect, is that in order to encourage the research in the front-line of Management Science and Engineering Management, ISMSEM Advancement Prize for MSEM have been awarded at the conference for the papers which describe a practical application of management science and engineering management, and which solve the management problems in engineering practice.
